Privacy Policy
Last updated 2 August 2026
Discipline Over Comfort is a coaching practice operated by Blake Tomlinson in Ontario, Canada. This page explains exactly what this website collects, why, and what happens to it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
What this site collects
If you fill in the contact form: your name, your email address, which program you selected, and whatever you write in the message box. That is all — there are no hidden fields collecting anything else.
Automatically, for security: our hosting provider records standard server information such as your IP address and browser type. This is used to stop abuse of the contact form — for example, blocking someone submitting it hundreds of times — and for nothing else.
What this site does not collect
- No analytics. We do not track how you move around this site.
- No advertising or tracking cookies. No pixels from social networks.
- No account, no password, no profile.
- No payment details are handled by this website.
If any of that changes, this page will be updated before the change goes live, and the date at the top will tell you when.
Why we have it, and what we do with it
We use what you send through the contact form for one purpose: to reply to you. If you write to ask about coaching, Blake reads it and answers it.
You will not be added to a mailing list. Contacting us is not consent to be marketed at. If we ever start a newsletter, you would have to deliberately sign up for it and confirm that signup by email — and you could leave at any time.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. To anyone. Ever.
Who else can see it
Running a website means using a few services. The ones that touch your data are:
- Vercel — hosts this website and processes the server logs described above.
- Brevo — delivers your contact form message to Blake's inbox as an email.
- Cloudflare — may provide anti-spam verification on the contact form to confirm you are a person rather than a bot.
These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. Some of them operate servers outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union, which means your information may be stored or processed there and could be subject to the laws of those countries.
How long it is kept
Contact form enquiries are kept as ordinary email in Blake's inbox for as long as they are useful for the conversation, and are deleted when they are not. Security logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider and then discarded.
If you become a client, records relating to payments must be kept for six years to meet Canada Revenue Agency requirements.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to us holding it.
Ask, and we will do it — there is no process to go through and no reason we would refuse. Use the contact form on the home page and say what you want.
If you are ever unsatisfied with how we have handled this, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Children
This coaching practice is for adults. This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here with a new date at the top. Material changes — particularly anything that would mean collecting more than we do today — will be made before the change takes effect, not after.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or about information we hold, go through the contact form and reach Blake directly.
